Naturally ferocious

Old project i revived. One of my lifelong dreams is it to master photoshop to the extent where i can draw so realistic i can draw winged humans that look like they actually exist. Until then though i´ll play around with photo manipulation which happens like, once a year maximum because it´s incredibly hard finding suitable stock. Like with this one where i set it aside for half a year until in found the right background stock. However now that i found the right picture that i can actually use i´m all the more happy with the otucome

I´d really appreciate feedback, critique or whatever. There´s probably many things i could improve but i don´t know how or what to look for. Like with the background i tried my best to keep it as beautiful as the original while drawing the attention away from it towards the harpy. I had some troubles creating a sense of depth without making to look like two separate pieces. And then there´s the harpy that has gray wings like the background so i needed to tweak it quite a bit to make her stand out some.

So please if anything strikes you as odd please tell me

I so wish i were that woman. I can´t count the times i´ve been in the Alps standing right above the abyss and dreaming of taking one more step then flapping my wings and flying. Just how do those mighty mountains look when you get to encircle them, approach them and explore them from every angle? That´s the bitter-sweet thing with mountains- you´re closer to flying than ever and endless freedom is just one leap away, but you´re also only ever ascending to the peak where you´re ultimately trapped in a dead-end.
